LGBUR or "Last Great Book You Read" is a new social net for those who love reading books. On LGBUR anyone can share their favourite books and also see what other people's favourite books are.
LGBUR interface had to be light, clean, intuitive and very easy to use so as to allow users to concentrate on what is important the most while visiting the website: books. It also had to work properly on any kind of screens, from desktops to smartphones, in other words, it needed to be a responsive and flexible design.
Above you can see some of the "LGBUR" screenshots. When a new user arrives they are allowed to see the books other users shared but can't share their own ones, in order to do this they must register or log in first. Once a user is registered or logged in apart from being able to see other users' books they can also share their own ones. Besides being able to see and share books users can also rate their favourite ones, save books they would like to read later on in the future and manage their account settings.
Above you can see a short style guide with some of the most important elements created while designing: cards, icons, colours and typography.
As any project everything starts by making rough drawings on a piece of paper with the basic structure and the main areas of the website, afterwards a "Low-fidelity" mockup is created in order to isolate problems and find their solutions. "LGBUR" is social net for those who love reading books that's why book cards take up the most of the space available on the website which allows any user to see a bunch of books without even having to do any further actions. Among the main areas there is a "Top Navigation Bar", fixed to the top of the screen, where users apart from being able to navigate through all the sections of the website can make a custom search. There's also a "Footer" which remains fixed to the bottom of the screen while visiting the site.
